GREEN PLANTAIN/VAZHAKKAI PUTTU

Ingredients

  1. Green plaintain – 3
  2. Oil – 2 tsp
  3. Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  4. Salt as per taste
  5. Red chili - 1
  6. Curry leaves - few

To Grind

Scrubbed coconut - 2 Tbsp
Garlic- 4 to 5 cloves
Green chili – 3(small size)
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
Small onion – 3

Method of preparation

1.First cut all the green plantain into half.
2.Add these into the boiling water as shown in the figure.Check it fully immerse in water

3.In the mean time,We have to grind the things mentioned below to grind.Do not add water to grind.

4.When it is well cooked,the peel will become black in color.check it for both sides of Green plantain.

5.Take it out and remove the peel.Then scrubbed it as shown in the figure.

6.After scrubbing,mix it well with the ground paste and add salt. keep it aside

7.Heat some oil in pan,add mustard seeds.When it spluttered,add curryleaves then pinched red chilli and the above.saute it for 3 min.switch off the flame

8.Now Vazhakkai puttu is ready to serve.
