Ingredients
Prepared Idiyappam – 5 piecesOil – 3 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Bengal gram/kadalai paruppu- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Red chili – 3 to 4
Lemon – 1 (small size)
Salt as per taste
Preparation method
1.First loosen the strings of the Idiyappam as shown in the picture.2.Pinch the red chili as shown in the figure.
3.Heat oil in a pan.Add mustard seeds first.When it spluttered,add bengal gram and the red chili.
4.When the bengal gram color changes into golden brown,add turmeric powder.
5.Now add the loosen strings into the kadai. Sauté it gently for few seconds
6.Add slightly salt and squeeze lemon to extract the juice on the surface.saute it well for 2 min.
7.Now lemon Idiyappam/sevai is ready to taste.
