SOOJI/RAVA UPPUMA

Rava Uppuma

Ingredients

  1. Roasted Sooji/Rava – 1 and 1/2 cup
  2. Water – 3 cups
  3. oil – 2 tbsp (6 tsp)
  4. Carrot – a half
  5. Green peas – few
  6. Potato – 1(Medium size)
  7. Green chilli –5
  8. Ginger –1 inch piece
  9. Bengal gram – 1 tsp
  10. Curry leaf – few
  11. Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

Method 

1.In  a kadai, add oil,then mustard seeds ,when it splutters, add bengal gram,curry leaf and saute it for few seconds
2.Then add finely chopped onions ,saute it well
3.Add chopped green chillies ,ginger,chopped vegetables one by one saute it well

4.Now add 3 cups of water
5.Allow the water to boil. When it starts to boil vigorously, check if the vegetables are cooked. Add salt and check, whether its sufficient.

 6.Add the roasted rava little by little while simultaneously stirring with the other hand.                                    DSC_0726
7.Wait till the rava absorbs all the water. Switch off the flame

8.Now Rava upma is ready to taste
