Bottle gourd – 1
Moong dal - 1/2 cup
Channa dal – 2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Hing - a pinch
Milk – 2 tsp
Salt – to taste
Curry leaves – a sprig
To Grind
Coconut –5 tsp
Green chilli –3
Cumin seeds –1/2 tsp
To Temper
Oil – 1 tsp
Mustard and Urad dal – 1 tsp
Method
Peel the skin and chop the bottle gourd. Cook the bottle gourd,moong dal,channa dal,turmericpowder and hing with enough water and cook it for 3 whistles.
Grind the ingredients given above in the column”To Grind”.
Add the coconut paste in to the cooked bottle gourd and add salt and curry leaves.boil it in a low flame for 5 min.
Add milk and temper the ingredients given in the above column “To Temper” and mix it with bottle gourd.
Bottle gourd / Suraikai Kuttu is ready to serve.
