BLACK URAD DAL RICE / ULUNTHANPARUPU RICE

                          Black urad dal rice is a simple and a healthy dish.You can serve it to your kids also.You can do the same procedure using skinless urad dal also.
Ingredients
Split black gram dal with skin / Black Urad dal – 1/2 cup
Rice – 1 cup
Cumin seed – 1 teaspoon
Garlic – 6 to 7
Fenugreek seeds – 15
Scrubbed coconut – 1/2 cup
sesame oil – 2 teaspoon
Water – 4 cups
Salt – to taste
Method
Fry the urad dal in the pan with out adding oil.Fry it till it becomes light brown in color and  also you can smell a nice flavor.

Wash the rice and add the fried urad dal with it.Pour water and add peeled garlic, cumin seed, fenugreek seed,salt and sesame oil in it.

Switch ON the rice cooker or cook it in a pressure cooker for 3 to 4 whistles.
Finally add scrubbed coconut in it and mix it well.You can also omit the coconut if you don’t want.

Serve it with coriander chutney or sesame chutney.
