Onion chutney is a perfect match for idli/dosa.This is one of the method for preparing onion chutney. It is simply a spicy and tastiest side dish forever.

- Small onions – 300 g
- Red chili – 5 to 6
- Sesame oil – 2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- urad dal – 1/2 tsp
- Hing – a pinch
- Tamarind – a little(check the size in the picture given below)
- Salt as per taste
Method of Preparation
1.First remove peel for onions as shown in the figure.2.Then Grind onions,red chili,tamarind,salt.
3.Heat 3 tsp of oil in a pan.Add mustard seeds,urad dal.When it spluttered,add hing.
4.Pour the ground chutney to it.
5.Add half cup of water into the above.
6.Let it allow to boil vigorously.stir it every now and then.
7.Add 3 tsp of oil into it.
8.Now onion chutney is ready to serve.
