IDIYAPPAM RECEIPE

                        Idiyappam is one of the main dish in tamilnadu.My mom do so many procedures to make it.I don’t have that much of patience.But my mother-in-law taught me to prepare it more easier.Now i prepare idiyappam weekly once.It is a healthy and tasty food.Here with i was given step by step pictures to prepare idiyappam easily.Serve it with vegetable kuruma/coconut milk.

Idiyappam flour preparation

  • Take 1 kg of raw rice.
  • Give the raw rice to flour mill for grinding  nicely.
  • Store it in a airtight vessel.
  • Now Idiyappam flour is ready.

Ingredients

Idiyappam flour – 2 cups
Water – 3 to 4 cups
Salt – a pinch

Preparation method

1.First take  idiyappam flour in a vessel.Add slightly salt into it.

2.Then mix lukewarm water slightly,slightly to make it as a soft dough.Now idiyappam dough is ready.

3.Keep dough in idiyappam maker/idiyappa kuzhal.

4.Press it in a circular motion on a idly plate like noodle form.(Long strings).

5.Allow it to steam in a idly pot for 10 – 15 min.

6.Now Idiyappam is ready.

7.You can make it as a lemon Idiyappam/lemon sevai or serve it with vegetable kuruma.

Tips

1.Check the Idiyappam maker having small,small  holes.If so strings will be soft and easy to press.
2.Ask to ground the idiyappam flour nicely from the flour mill.Then only it is easy to press.
3.Check the dough is soft.
