RED AVAL / POHA PAYASAM

Recipe Highlights
Simple payasam make within 20 minutes.
Ingredients Cooking Time :20 Mins
Red Aval / poha – 1 cup
Jaggery – 3/4 cup
Water – 3 cups
Milk – 1/2 cup
Ghee – 3 teaspoon
Cashewnuts – 8 to 10
cardamom powder – less than 1/4 teaspoon

Method
Step :1
Heat a teaspoon of ghee in the pan and roast red aval for a minute or till you get a nice aroma.Let the cool down for some minutes and grind it into a coarse powder.
Heat water in the pan and when it comes to boiling stage add the coarsed aval and let them cook for 5 minutes.
Then add jaggery and cardamom powder.
Take another pan heat one teaspoon of ghee and roast the cashewnuts and mix it with payasam.Switch off the flame.
Let them cool down completely.
Finally Add the milk into the payasam and serve it.
