ARISI PARUPPU PAYASAM / RICE MOONGDAL (WITH COCONUT MILK)

Recipe Highlights
Arisi paruppu payasam is a delicious indian dessert.
Ingredients Cooking Time : 30 Mins
Raw rice – 1/2 cup
Moong dal – 1/4 cup
Jaggery – 1 cup
Water – 2 cups
Coconut milk / Milk – 1  cup
Ghee – 3 teaspoon
Cardamom powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Cashewnuts – 1 teaspoon

Method
Step :1
Heat  a teaspoon of ghee in the pressure cooker.Roast the moong dal till you get a nice aroma.Now add the rice and fry it for a minute.
Add water and cook it for  4 to 5 whistles.

Step 2:
Open the pressure cooker and mash it with laddle.

Now add the jaggery and  cook it in a low flame for few minutes.
Add cardamom powder.
Add the coconut milk and mix it well and let them come to a boil and switch off the flame.
Heat ghee in a separate pan and fry the cashewnuts and mix it with payasam.
