Step :1
Chop the onion and tomatoes.cut the greenchillies into half. Take a pressure cooker put the onion,tomatoes,greenchillies and moong dal and wash it well. Add enough water(2 1/2 cups)Put some turmeric powder and hing in it.mix it well. Cook it in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles. | |
Step 2:
Once the pressure completely released from the cooker,open the lid. Add enough water and salt and boil it.Add little chilli powder if u want(optional). | |
Step 3:
Put a handful of corinader leaves .Heat oil in pan,add mustard seeds .when it starts to crackle put urad dal. Finally mix it with sambar.Boil the sambar for 5 minutes.Switch off the flame. Serve hot with Idli/Dosa. | |
Moongdal Sambar is now ready to serve.
