Recipe Highlights
Best side dish for idli / dosa
Ingredients Cooking Time : 30 Mins
Onion - 1
Tomato -2
Greenchilli - 5 to 8
Moong dal - 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Hing - 1/4 teaspoon
Redchilli powder - 1/4 teaspoon (Optional)
Oil - 1 teaspoon
Mustard and Urad dal - 1 teaspoon
Corainder leaves
Salt – to taste

Method
Step :1
Chop the onion and tomatoes.cut the greenchillies into half.
Take a pressure cooker put the onion,tomatoes,greenchillies and moong dal and wash it well.
Add enough water(2 1/2 cups)Put some turmeric powder and hing in it.mix it well.
Cook it in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles.

Step 2:

Once the pressure completely released from the cooker,open the lid.
Add enough water and salt and boil it.Add little chilli powder if u want(optional).

Step 3:
Put a handful of corinader leaves .Heat oil in pan,add mustard seeds .when it starts to crackle put urad dal.
Finally mix it with sambar.Boil the sambar for 5 minutes.Switch off the flame.
Serve hot with Idli/Dosa.

Moongdal Sambar is now ready to serve.
