POTTUKADALAI MURUKKU

Healthy  snack
Ingredients Cooking Time : 30 Mins
Rice flour – 1 cup
Pottukadalai/Split roasted gram– 1/4 cup
Chilli powder – less than 1/4 teaspoon
Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
Butter – 1 teaspoon
Water – as required
Salt - to taste
Oil – to deep fry

Method
Step :1
Grind the fried gram to a fine powder.
Sieve it.
In a mixing bowl combine rice flour and fried gram,redchilli powder,butter,cumin seeds and salt.Mix it well.

Step 2:

Heat water in a pan,when it starts to boil switch off the flame.Add water little by little and make a soft dough.
Take a murukku press and fit your favorite shaped disc.Grease murukku press with little oil and fill it up the dough.
Take some ziploc and apply some oil on it and slowly press  in the form of circle.
Heat oil in a pan.Drop a small pinch of dough.If the dough comes to top  immediately then your oil is ready.Dropthe murukku into the oil and cook both sides till the sizzling sound stops and murukku turn golden in color.
Drain it and store them in  a airtight container.

Murukku  is now ready to taste.
