Step :1
Cut the citron and remove the seeds.Deseed properly because it will reduce bitterness.
Chop them into small pieces.
Cook it in a pressure cooker along with turmeric powder for 5 to 6 whistles.
Soak tamarind in hot water and extract the juice.(1 cup)
Heat oil in a pan.Add mustard and urad dal,when it splutter add the tamarind extract.
Put chilli powder,coriander powder and let it boil for 5 minutes. | |
Step 2:
Take 4 to 5 pieces of jaggery and mash it.
After 5 minutes add the narthangai and keep the flame low for 10 minutes.Add salt to taste.
Finally add powdered jaggery to in it and cook it for another 10 minutes.Switch off the flame and let it cool down for some more minutes.
Keep it in a closed container and you can store it in a refrigerator for a week. | |
